The RETScreen Team won the GTEC Distinction Award Medal (National Category) for International Partnerships. The award was presented at the Distinctions Awards Gala held at the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa as part of the annual Government Technology Exhibition and Conference (GTEC). The GTEC awards recognize leadership, innovation and excellence in information management in the public sector. National Awards are open to all levels of government and categories include information management, partnerships and pilot projects.

The RETScreen Team was awarded the ENERGY GLOBE National Award for Canada for developing the RETScreen Clean Energy Project Analysis Software. The ENERGY GLOBE Awards for Sustainability were founded in 1999 and are considered one of the most prominent and prestigious environmental prizes in the world. Over 800 projects and initiatives from 105 countries were submitted in 2009. The award was formally presented at the 2010 World Environment Day in Kigali, Rwanda by senior officials from the United Nations and the Government of Rwanda.

The RETScreen Team was honoured with a Government of Canada Public Service Award of Excellence (Innovation Category) for demonstrating leadership and commitment, and for helping to build Canada's international reputation as a serious player in enabling clean energy worldwide. The Public Service Award of Excellence (PSAE) recognizes employees who have demonstrated excellence in the achievement of results for Canadians and reflect the priorities of the Public Service.

The RETScreen Team won a Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) Departmental Achievement Award (Innovation Category) for improving performance and service through innovative approaches and creativity. The NRCan Departmental Achievement Award is presented in recognition of the RETScreen Team having gone above and beyond in their support of excellence and collaboration, and having demonstrated exceptional aptitude and achievement in support of the departmental mandate.

The RETScreen Team was a finalist for the GLOBE Awards for Environmental Excellence, in the category of Technology Innovation and Application. This award recognizes an organization that has demonstrated outstanding technical ingenuity in the development and/or application of an innovative technology with a significant environmental application that is being commercialized. The GLOBE Awards for Environmental Excellence salute outstanding achievement in environmental stewardship in Canada and are presented by the GLOBE Foundation, an international consultancy organization in the business of the environment.
