Proposed case
- Energy efficiency measures will lower hot water supply temperature to 55 °C and reduce water consumption by 1,000 L/d for a cost of $1,000
- Install 10 Thermo Dynamics model S32-P glazed solar water heater collectors
- Cost of installation of solar water heaters is $500/m²
- Collectors will be mounted on roof at 45° to the horizontal, facing equator
- No heat exchanger and no storage used in the system
- Mains pressure moves water through system
- Losses for solar water heater are about 4% and for balance of system are 3%
