Thermal (or thermic) fluid heaters heat a heat transfer fluid (typically petroleum-based) using a combustible fuel and a vessel. The energy performance of a thermal fluid heater is influenced by a number of factors such as the type of fuel, the heater capacity and seasonal efficiency. Other factors include the size and the type of process heating load. Refer to the Thermal Fluid Heater Schematic for more information.

Software & Data
The RETScreen Software Thermal Fluid Heater Model can be used worldwide to evaluate the energy production and savings, costs, emission reductions, financial viability and risk for thermal fluid heater projects, typically for industrial process applications. The software (available in multiple languages) also includes product, project and climate databases, and a detailed user manual.
