2011-08-25: New Energy Management Software Tool Ready for Beta Testing

Implementing an energy monitoring, targeting and reporting system can be a powerful way to better manage energy project investments as well as identify additional project opportunities. In addition, the measurement and verification of actual savings (or production) achieved by a clean energy project is an important final step in the energy decision chain.

RETScreen International, in collaboration with the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) and the NASA Langley Research Center, has developed a new energy management software tool. The RETScreen Plus Performance Analysis Module enables users to monitor, analyze, and report key energy performance data to facility operators, managers and senior decision-makers.

A beta version of this energy tracking tool is now ready for beta testing. The new module may be downloaded here:

For the new software to function properly, Microsoft® Windows XP or higher; and Microsoft .NET Framework 4 or higher must be installed on your computer. Note that the Full Profile version must be installed, not just the Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile version. The Full version can be downloaded free-of-charge from Microsoft's website at the following URL:

Finally, please direct all comments related to the beta test to: RETScreenBetaTest@nrcan.gc.ca

We look forward to receiving your feedback.
