- Heating system natural gas fired boiler provides superheated steam at 135 °C and 3 bar pressure for 22 hours per day
- Steam is intentionally vented for 3 hours per day in a plume about 2 m high
- 20 leaks have been located in the system, about 2 mm diameter each
- Large venting will be eliminated
- All leaks will be repaired
- Cost for eliminating plume: $5,000
- Cost to repair each leak: $500
- Total O&M savings $400 per year
- 75% of leaks repaired
