Description The World Bank’s Prototype Carbon Fund and the United Nations Environment Programme have co-operated with the Government of Canada to improve the greenhouse gas emissions baseline tool in the popular RETScreen Software. This upgrade enables project proponents to better estimate the potential of carbon finance for their projects. To-date, stakeholders have saved an estimated $600 million worldwide through the use of the RETScreen software, databases and related training material. More than 55,000 people in 206 countries now use RETScreen, and the number of people benefiting from this decision-support and capacity-building tool is growing at more than 300 new users every week. Gregory J. Leng and Urban T. Ziegler from RETScreen International will present the latest developments, including the new Combined Heat & Power Model.
